Inquiry into people, culture, mental health and systems.
Following questions with curiosity, rigour, and care.以好奇追问,以严谨求知,以关怀待人。
How do students experience and respond to mental health and psychosocial challenges — and what happens when they seek support?
My doctoral research explores how culture shapes students’ experiences of anxiety and adversity, coping and help-seeking, and how they navigate multi-layered support ecosystems in higher education.
A few things gathered from across my research and creative practice — questions I am following, ideas I am thinking through, and things I am bringing into form.
01Research
Culture, Mental Health & Support in Higher Education
A cross-cultural study of how students experience and respond to anxiety and adversity — including trauma and other negative life experiences — how they cope, draw on resources, and seek help, and how they navigate multi-layered support ecosystems in higher education, including university-wide mental health and wellbeing provision, departmental and collegiate support.
Bringing together student and staff perspectives, the research also examines how support providers and institutions understand and respond to students’ needs, with the aim of informing culturally responsive guidance for improving mental health and student support in UK higher education.
