Working with organisations to understand needs and improve support.

I’m interested in working with universities, mental health services, non-profit organisations, cultural institutions and community partners to understand people’s experiences, improve existing support and develop projects together.

We can begin with your current work: who it reaches, what is helping, and where people encounter difficulties. Research, lived experience and staff knowledge can help us decide what to try next.

01 / Possibilities

What we could work on

Understanding experiences and needs

Explore how people experience a service or project, what they need, and whose perspectives are missing—including people who never make contact or stop taking part.

We could develop research questions, listen to service users and staff, and consider how culture, language, identity and everyday circumstances shape access to support.

Improving support and services

Look at what already works and where support becomes difficult to find, understand or use. This could involve information, routes into support, participation or connections between services.

Together, we could identify a manageable change, try it in the setting and use feedback to decide what to keep or adjust.

Developing projects together

Develop a research, education, cultural or community project around a shared question, with the people it concerns involved in shaping it.

I could contribute to shaping the idea, planning activities or resources, and reflecting on what we learn. We would agree on roles, scope and practical arrangements together.

02 / My background

What I bring

My background is in psychology and mental health research, with experience in education and mental health settings. My doctoral research examines how students experience difficulties, seek help and navigate support in higher education.

I can contribute to framing research questions, understanding people’s accounts, and connecting research with the practical knowledge of staff and communities. I’m particularly interested in how culture and everyday circumstances affect help-seeking and support.

The collaboration described here focuses on research and project work; it is not an offer of psychological counselling, clinical assessment or treatment. We would agree on contributions that fit my experience and the project’s needs.

03 / Let’s talk

Where we could begin

Email me with a little about your organisation, a question you are working on or an idea you would like to explore. We can discuss whether there is a useful way to work together—you don’t need a finished proposal.
